Right now (and for the past 20 years) Lizzie is the only female with her name on a signature skateboarding shoe, but she didn't set out to make a women's skate shoe, she wanted to make a great shoe for more skaters whose needs were not being met. Vans listened to her when she said that most impact cushioning left her floating above her board, disconnected. So we updated the impact cushioning. Vans listened when Lizzie told them that current skate molds make her foot feel like it's swimming inside the shoe. So Vans updated the fit with a locked-in last for improved control. And Vans listened when Lizzie told us she needed better grip and more durability to add to the overall skateability. So Vans created a new gum rubber tread pattern and reinforced the upper with DURACAP™ where she needed it most.
