Tannat makes up 25% of Uruguay's plantings - it's the only country in the world to adopt the variety as its flagship grape. Its thick skins produce too much tannin in most climates, but here it suits the Atlantic-cooled vineyards perfectly. From a winery awarded the 'World's Best Tannat', this is a fabulous new find.
