Alta Tierra comes from a winery that won a Trophy in its inaugural vintage. That was before anyone in the trade had ever heard of the Elqui Valley. It lies next door to the Atacama desert and used to grow grapes for pisco. Then Italian Giorgio Flessati and his Chilean cousin Aldo Olivier thought: why not get the same brilliant flavour in wine.
