Once the preserve of skiers en vacance in France's Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, on the Swiss border, the wines of Savoie are a rare and delicious find in the UK. With just 2,000 hectares of vines, planted at altitude on mountain slopes, it produces only 0.5% of French wine and most of it is white. Jacquère is one of its top grapes - unique to the region, its wines are delicate, fragrant and crisp.
