Description
Founded in 1857 by Jesuit monks, Château Ksara is Lebanon's oldest and most iconic winery, a beacon of continuity in a region where winemaking has often been challenging. Their Merwah 2023 showcases an indigenous grape from 60-year-old vines in terraced vineyards above Douma at 1,500-1,600m. Altitude, slate soils and mountain breezes lend freshness and character. Pale yellow with green glints, it shows citrus, white blossom and mineral lift. The palate brings guava, melon and lime with crisp acidity, a clean finish and subtle roundness from lees ageing. In recent years Lebanon's wine industry has demonstrated remarkable resilience and Ksara remains at its heart. This bright, soulful white reflects that indomitable spirit.
