Description
The Bekaa Valley is a troubled place, yet winemakers persevere in making their outstanding wines. The region has a semi-continental climate, with cold winters, hot dry summers and reasonable rainfall (around 650mm annually) where old vines can thrive. Ksara's vineyards lie at 1,000 metres altitude, which means a big drop of temperature at night - perfect for quality wines with freshness and elegance. Founded in 1857 by Jesuit monks, Château Ksara is named after the fortress (ksar) that once stood on the site.
