Description
Domaine des Sénéchaux is among the region's oldest wineries. With vines planted here since the XIV century, it's a historic producer of some of Châteauneuf-du-Pape's greatest wines. It gets its name from one of the estate's principal plots, located in the "Bois Sénéchaux" neighbourhood - where the Sénéchaux representatives of the King's council used to meet. For this wine, Syrah and Mourvèdre are aged for a year in barrel, whilst Grenache is aged in small vats before blending. It's rich and complex, with ripe notes of raspberry, strawberry, liquorice and sweet spices. Woody hints and firm tannins make it a great pairing for pork with sage.
