Description
At 2,100 metres above sea level, Don Aldo's Pedro Ximénez vines account for the highest in Chile. This lofty altitude does wonders for the berries, lending full flavour concentration and intense aromas. As a variety best known for making superb, sweet, fortified wines, it shows its class here as an aromatic, dry white. A splash of Chardonnay brings bright peach fruit to the fresh, citrusy minerality. The wine is from two Italian winemakers - Don Aldo and Giorgio Flessati. Aldo was the first to leave his homeland of northern Italy for Chile's Elqui Valley in 1951 and his cousin, Giorgio Flessati, joined him in the 1980s. Together they make Trophy-winning wines that impress. This is an exciting, out-of-the-box, crisp white. Very refreshing.
