Description
Scottish-born Pamela Geddes has worked all over the world, including Australia where she learnt to capture maximum fruit and freshness even in the hottest climate. However, it was Spain where she lost her heart, in particular the little-known Jumilla region along the eastern coast. Akin to the desert landscapes seen in Spaghetti Westerns, Jumilla is home to some of Spain's oldest Syrah and Monastrell vines, but also, she discovered, some exceptional Alicante Bouschet vines. Excited, she insisted her team at the winery kept the wine separate and her instinct was proved right. This is the wine - dark, velvety, black fruit Alicante, with just a splash of deepest Syrah. Great to sip solo or to partner with hearty casseroles or roast meats.
