Description
For 'royalty' in Marlborough Sauvignon, this is it. An exceptional white from Hunter's original vineyard. Tony was first introduced to Jane and Ernie Hunter in the 1980s by the late Tony Jordan. They took a stand at our Wine Festival and their wines astonished an audience of around 5,000 people - experts and punters alike. No one had ever experienced such vibrant, tropical fruit freshness in a glass. They made newspaper headlines too. Now Marlborough Sauvignons have taken the world by storm but, to us, the finest remain those from Hunter's. They only make little of this wine each year, all from the Home Block, planted 40 years ago. With a small portion fermented in oak, there's a creamy texture to the intense passionfruit and citrus.
