Description
Among the south-facing slopes of prestigious Stellenbosch lies the boutique winery Journey's End. Its vineyards lie closest to the ocean and benefit from cooling breezes, which accounts for the freshness and elegance of this exemplary Bordeaux-style blend. Owned by Rollo Gabb, the estate not only makes a small range of outstanding wines, but is also very community minded, building a school, a creche and much more. Their Twenty Barrels red uses the whole gamut of Bordeaux grapes - Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot - all from those cool, coastal vineyards. Well structured, beautifully balanced, with lovely depth of juicy black fruit and freshness, it's a joy with rib of beef or a rich vegetarian moussaka.
