Description
L'Aventure - the name alone reflects the sense of discovery and French heritage behind this iconic Californian red. In 1987 visionary Bordeaux winemaker Stephan Asseo headed to the States in pursuit of vinous excellence. Not to Napa or Sonoma, but lesser known Paso Robles. A multitude of 90-plus scores from the world's top critics has seen this boutique estate put the region firmly on the fine wine map and Stephan fulfil his dreams. Here's what James Suckling says of this latest release: "Blackberry and black-walnut aromas with dried meat and spice, following through to a full-bodied yet tight and tannic palate with a smoky and spicy undertone. Linear and firm tannins give it length and focus." Magnifique. Cellar or open early and decant.
