Highly regarded Sauternes estate, Rayne Vigneau, spans 84 hectares across a single immense hilltop in Bommes, where it has long produced its lauded, age-worthy dessert wines. But sweet bottlings aren't the only success at this generations-old estate. Seven hectares of the precious grape-growing area are dedicated solely to the production of this exceptional dry Sauvignon Blanc. Grapes are handpicked, vinified in oak vats, then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels - methods that result in a white wine with proper ageing potential, around another five to 10 years. Upon opening you'll be greeted with intense aromas of pear and peaches, followed by flavours including jasmine and star anise, plus a slightly bitter, saline note. A perfect match for goat's cheese, roast poultry or any seafood.
