The Cote d'Or covers the heartland of Burgundy. It's made up of two subregions: the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, which are home to 40 world-famous villages and countless climats. A Chardonnay or Pinot Noir labelled as Bourgogne Cote d'Or is a relatively new sight, since the denomination was only added to Burgundy's appellation system in 2017.
