English wine is enjoying a much-deserved rise in popularity - and this award-winning Chardonnay proves why. Lyme Bay's Managing Director James Lambert, has over 20 years of experience in the English wine industry. He works with growers across the country to source the best grapes for each of his wines - and in this Chardonnay, he shows just what his team can do with the popular variety. It's made with grapes from the Crouch Valley in Essex, where a warm growing season and low levels of rainfall create the ideal conditions for ripe, full-flavoured fruit. Here's how it tastes: It's complex, elegant and creamy with notes of apricot, peach, apple skin and sweet spices. You'll find it incredibly food-friendly, and a real treat with white fish like cod or halibut.
