Description
Argentina's Malbec is a wine phenomenon nearly as great as Marlborough's Sauvignon Blanc. Red wine lovers have taken to it with a passion. The finest and most ageworthy come from Mendoza's Uco Valley, the highest stretches of which lie at well over 1200 metres. Parcel Selecta is an exciting opportunity to secure this special project red. It's from an ace cellar, named as a 'New World Top 5' winery. Leading their winemaking is Miriam Gomez, who has worked at some of the world's top cellars, including £355-a-bottle Opus One. Aged well over a year in barrel, the rest in bottle, this fine red has dark plum, cassis, strawberry and cherry notes, rippled by the toasty vanilla of oak. Gloriously silky, it's first choice with steak.
