Description
Grapes were first grown on the green slopes of Mendocino County by Italian immigrants, who arrived there in the mid-1800s. Most of the vineyards, 570 in total, of this sprawling region remain today in the hand of family farmers, many of whom have tended the land for a number of generations. Mendocino County is a large area, within which lie 11 individual AVAs (appellation areas), each with distinct conditions. Pescadero Rock comes from Teak vineyard, close to the coast.
