Description
This is the mesmirising white wine from an exceptional estate, one of the icons of Bordeaux. With the highest possible distinction for a Saint-Emilion wine - Premier Grand Cru Classé 'A' - Cheval Blanc can easily be considered on a par with the First Growths of Bordeaux, names like Lafite, Latour and Margaux. This esteemed property consists of 39 hectares divided into 45 plots. Large for a Saint-Emilion, where the average is 7 hectares. For this firmly red wine region, the white Petit Cheval Blanc is a relatively new venture for the château, the Sémillon vines only mature enough to include a portion since 2018. Fermented and aged in large oak barrels with batonnage, the wine is elegant with a crisp mineral edge and long complex finish.
