Description
Tokaji, Hungary's most distinguished wine, boasts over 400 years' history and royal patronage. Its sweet wines are renowned, yet its shining star, the white Furmint grape, also makes incredible, dry whites. They rank alongside Chablis as one of the defining styles of Europe. Furmint is said to have the aromatic intensity of Viognier and the mineral freshness of Chenin. This wine comes from the Royal Tokaji Company, spearheaded by one of the world's favourite wine writers, Hugh Johnson. "I had to wait for the Iron Curtain to come down before I could start up my dream," he reflected. It was worth the wait, as you'll taste with the 2022 vintage. Aged in new oak, it blends bright, crisp fruit with spice. Excellent with creamy chicken dishes.
