Description
Mike Roberts founded Ridgeview Estate in 1994 with the aim of creating world-class sparkling wines on the South Downs. He chose the site because its soil is the exact same chalk/clay mix as found in Champagne, and the climate is similar too - perfectly suited to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Such has been their success that several big Champagne houses have made overtures to buy Ridgeview and Taittinger have bought land nearby.
