Description
Vasse Felix is a name said with reverence in the same breath as Margaret River. The second-generation estate was established in 1967 by Dr Tom Cullity - the first in the region, paving the way for an area that has since established a superb reputation for some of Australia's finest wines. Heytesbury is their flagship range - a Bordeaux-style red and this remarkable Chardonnay. The finest grapes of the vintage are gently pressed and the juice put into top-quality new French oak barrels for a wild yeast fermentation. Maturation for a further nine months in oak with its lees lends a subtle layer of toasty, creamy-textured spice to this magnificent white, balanced by racy minerality. Serve on special occasions with sauced white meats or salmon.
