Bassist in top Britpop band Blur, Alex James had a passion for food and wanted to make a difference. He moved to a farmhouse in the Cotswolds and began to make artisan cheeses. Then, delicious local brews, like Britpop cider and now Britpop cider brandy. For centuries, Alex explained, France has been showcasing their grapes. Britain's speciality, however, is apples, with hundreds of traditional varieties to explore. He teamed up with Somerset Cider Brandy, cider specialists too, and together they created a spirit from their organic apples grown in biodiverse orchards.
