Description
Chief winemaker at the San Valero cellar in Spain's Cariñena has been the talented Javier Domeque for well over 20 years. He is the talent behind our much-loved Big Red, El Bombero. And as a big thank you to customers for all those years of El Bombero loyalty, he has a made a very special despedida (farewell) cuvée. He always chooses grapes from old vines in hot, arid Cariñena, but for this super cuvée he picked out the very best bunches of the vintage from little pockets across the region. Yields are always very low and the berries thick-skinned and small, but these grapes take concentration to the limit. Aged three months in oak, this powerful, rich red is the ultimate in velvet smoothness, deep raspberry fruit and lavish spice.
