Tucked away in the Languedoc is the forgotten 'cru' of Cabrières. It's where Gérard Bertrand (Drinks Business Master Winemaker of the World) sources fruit for his £165-a-bottle pink. In the village, there's a small cooperative which was named France's 'Winery of the Year 2023', beating all the grand names of Bordeaux and Burgundy even! It has just 10 members, one of whom owned the organic Loubissou vineyard, with its prized ancient schist soil.
