Halfway between the powerful style of Amarone and the classic charm of Valpolicella, this luscious, cherryish masterpiece is from Cantina Negrar, an award-winning cellar not far from Verona. Talented oenologist Daniele Accordini works closely with small, local growers, encouraging high standards in the vineyard as well as respect for the natural environment and biodiversity. To create this intense red and ensure plenty of richness, weight and complexity, he fermented the wine with a portion of partially dried grapes - known as the famous 'Ripasso' technique. The result is rich cherry flavours, deep mocha notes, and Valpolicella's signature zip of freshness. Pairs well with pasta, game or mature cheeses. Best opened early and decanted.
